We are searching for a Product Sustaining Electrical Engineer who is excited to work on our hardware product with a cloud-based back-end and help bring new ideas from prototype to production. We’re looking for someone who has worked with PCBA designs that include networking, sensing and interfacing with other hardware components, who is ready to jump in and help continually improve our existing products as well as support the development of the next generation of products.
As a Product Sustaining Electrical Engineer at Bevi, you will
- Perform electrical failure investigations by gathering data and using root cause analysis techniques
- Work with Project Managers to clearly communicate status updates, challenges, and timing impacts
- Be responsible for scoping of product sustaining projects by understanding the electrical system needs, as well as analysis and tradeoff studies to evaluate alternative design options
- Collaborate closely with Quality, Product, and Manufacturing teams to maintain and improve the quality and reliability of Bevi products
- Provide electrical engineering support through product development lifecycle
- Develop circuit and PCB design revisions
- Generate electrical schematic and layout exports, drawings, BOMs for PCBAs and implement into PLM system
- Develop best practices for reliability and quality of electrical subsystems
- Work with the Manufacturing and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues, evaluate change requests and execute changes to systems in production
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or in a similar field with 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in consumer/industrial product sustaining, testing, or technology exploration in Robotics, Networking, Sensing, IoT or other similar fields
- Experience in identifying and designing solutions that require integration with electrical and mechanical components
- Proficiency in using ECAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer)
- Experience in the use of signal acquisition/analysis tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, data loggers, and spectrum analyzers
- Strong understanding of best practices for testing and failure analysis of electronic and embedded subsystems
- Hands on experience in PCB debug, and validation, including ability to rework SMT/TH circuitry components
- Strong hands-on skills to build and test prototypes
- Familiarity with DFM and DFT with regards to PCBA design and component/device selection
- Working knowledge in test firmware development and PLC programming is a plus
- Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A team-oriented approach to problem solving and knowledge generation
- Experience working in scaling start-ups is a plus
- Ability to be in the office 3+ days per week
