At Bluemethane, our mission is to prevent a billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from water. We’re looking for a brilliant technician to play a critical and exciting part in these engineering efforts. Our technology will measure, capture, and use methane from water.
Project Description:
We are developing a prototype system to recover methane from water. The system will be built using PVC piping, small pumps, aluminium profiles, and various sensors.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab/Workshop Technician to join our team in building this exciting prototype. You will be responsible for the hands-on construction and assembly of the system based on pre-defined designs and engineering specifications. You will also be able to critically review the design and the assembly process and interact with the design team to ensure a system of continuous improvement is followed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work from engineering drawings and schematics to assemble the water degassing system.
- Cut, drill, and fabricate components using PVC pipes, acrylic, aluminium profiles, and basic workshop tools.
- Install and connect small pumps and sensors according to the design specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Document the construction process through clear photographs and notes.
- Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and communicate any challenges to senior personnel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a laboratory or workshop environment.
- Proven experience with using workshop tools and machinery (drills, saws, etc.) for fabrication.
- Experience working with PVC pipes and fittings as well as hoses and vacuum systems.
- A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate assembly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the engineering team.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
