Project Description:

We are developing a prototype system to recover methane from water. The system will be built using PVC piping, small pumps, aluminium profiles, and various sensors.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab/Workshop Technician to join our team in building this exciting prototype. You will be responsible for the hands-on construction and assembly of the system based on pre-defined designs and engineering specifications. You will also be able to critically review the design and the assembly process and interact with the design team to ensure a system of continuous improvement is followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work from engineering drawings and schematics to assemble the water degassing system.
  • Cut, drill, and fabricate components using PVC pipes, acrylic, aluminium profiles, and basic workshop tools.
  • Install and connect small pumps and sensors according to the design specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Document the construction process through clear photographs and notes.
  • Troubleshoot minor assembly issues and communicate any challenges to senior personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with using workshop tools and machinery (drills, saws, etc.) for fabrication.
  • Experience working with PVC pipes and fittings as well as hoses and vacuum systems.
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the engineering team.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.

What we offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience) for the contract period.
  • Opportunity to be part of an innovative project and contribute to meaningful technological development.
  • Gain valuable experience working in a laboratory/workshop environment.
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
