USALCO Baltimore Plant, LLC is a major unit within the manufacturing network of a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, the making of catalysts for oil refining, the housing market and other sectors. The right individual will have a can-do attitude, the ability to be part of a team while operating independently and consistently perform to very high standards.

We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician Trainee who will assist with the repair, installation, and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency. They perform hands-on maintenance tasks. Key goals include minimizing downtime and maintaining facility safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond
  • to signs of malfunctions.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults in machinery and
  • equipment.
  • Performing repairs and replacements of faulty parts.
  • Assisting in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly
  • work areas.
  • Keeping maintenance logs and reporting on daily activities.
  • Assisting with inventory control and spare parts orders.
  • Working with the team to optimize machine performance and reduce downtime.
  • Performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly and
  • prevent potential issues.
  • Utilizing fabrication skills such as welding and cutting to repair or create metal parts
  • required for machinery maintenance.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work complies with established safety procedures,
  • regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assisting in training production personnel on the proper operation and basic
  • preventive maintenance of equipment to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Routine cleaning and safety inspections.
  • Lockout Tagout Training

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Requires organizational and planning skills to effectively complete assignments.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and able to respond on short notice to satisfy requirements of customers.
  • Requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate with others clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in
  • Be Safety oriented.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

  • Chemical-preferred, Oil and Gas Industry environment.
  • Ability to effectively work with Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Forklift certification

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Ability to:

  • Routinely lift 50 to 75 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Routinely stand 60 to 70% of shift.
  • Routinely traverse the site to various buildings by foot.
  • Routinely have to travers ladders, catwalks, and close quarters.
  • Work at elevated platforms as high as 150 without hesitation or fear.
  • Work inside confined spaces.
