Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports plant operations by ensuring all equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and enforce all safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on process and facility equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, control systems)
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using observation, testing, and technical documentation
  • Perform emergency and scheduled repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
  • Fabricate parts and components using shop equipment and tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications
  • Document maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history in CMMS
  • Coordinate with operations and assist with contractor activities as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S standards)
  • Participate in on-call rotation and work overtime, weekends, or off-shifts as required
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems (hydraulic, pneumatic) and basic electrical systems
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and control systems
  • Ability to read technical documents and follow instructions
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred:

  • Experience in chemical, manufacturing, food processing, or similar industrial environments
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting (including high and low voltage systems)
  • Experience using CMMS systems

Physical & Work Environment

  • Regularly lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and standing for extended periods
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and industrial hazards
  • Work around moving machinery, heavy equipment, and chemicals
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and traverse large industrial sites

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening
  • Participation in all corporate and site-specific safety training programs
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance
  • Willingness to become trained and certified to operate equipment as necessary to facilitate maintenance activities.
