About This Role

Usalco's distributor accounts represent a significant share of our revenue and span hundreds of individual ship-to locations across the country. Managing them well is both strategically critical and operationally demanding. As our Inside Account Manager, you will own the day-to-day administration and relationship management for our distributor portfolio, becoming the single point of contact for pricing/invoice questions, delivery/order status, and general questions. Your work directly frees our outside commercial team to focus on winning new business — making this role essential to Usalco's growth strategy.

What You Will Do

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Contract Administration

  • Manage price changes across all ship-to locations within the assigned distributor portfolio, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
  • Maintain pricing schedules in Salesforce and coordinate updates with the ERP system to ensure alignment between contracted and invoiced pricing
  • Respond to daily pricing inquiries from account contacts with confidence and precision — own the answer, don't pass it along
  • Proactively communicate price changes to account contacts ahead of effective dates to minimize disputes and invoice exceptions

Delivery Coordination & Issue Resolution

  • Field daily delivery status inquiries from account contacts and provide accurate, real-time updates by coordinating with operations and logistics
  • Track open orders, flag potential delays proactively, and communicate recovery plans when disruptions occur
  • Serve as the internal advocate for distributor accounts — ensuring their needs are visible to operations, scheduling, and customer service

Relationship & Account Stewardship

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the key operational and procurement contacts across the distributor portfolio
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date account records in Salesforce — contacts, ship-to locations, pricing history, and open issues
  • Prepare quarterly account summaries highlighting volume, pricing changes, service performance, and open items for review with the outside commercial team
  • Support the outside commercial team with account intelligence, context, and data so they can have more strategic conversations

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years of inside sales, account management, or customer service experience in a B2B industrial, chemical, or distribution environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume, detail-intensive accounts — someone who is energized by complexity, not overwhelmed by it
  • Strong proficiency in Salesforce CRM — maintaining records, running reports, and managing activity
  • Comfort working with pricing schedules, contracts, and multi-location account structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to represent Usalco professionally with national distributor contacts
  • Highly organized with a bias for follow-through — this role requires nothing to fall through the cracks

Preferred

  • Experience managing distributor or channel partner accounts specifically
  • Familiarity with customer/supplier portal systems (Ariba, Coupa, or distributor-specific platforms)
  • Background in specialty chemicals, water treatment, or process industries
  • Experience working alongside an outside sales team

What Success Looks Like

Performance Expectations

Within 60 days, you will have full ownership of the distributor portfolio — pricing schedules are yours, portals are yours, and daily inquiries route to you first. Within 90 days, the outside commercial team is measurably spending less time on account administration and more time on prospect development. At six months, quarterly price changes run on schedule without escalation, and distributor contacts know your name.
