ABOUT IMAGINE H2O ASIA
Imagine H2O Asia (IH2O Asia), a Singapore-based water solutions accelerator and NGO, has a mission to make innovation more accessible to water and climate-stressed communities in the Asia-Pacific.
Building on Imagine H2O’s decade of experience backing the world’s best water entrepreneurs, Imagine H2O Asia was established in 2019 with support from the Government of Singapore and industry partners to help build and scale water technology businesses across the region. The organization has developed a range of specialized programs designed to help entrepreneurs overcome the obstacles to water technology commercialization, early-stage financing and customer adoption.
Key pillars of Imagine H2O Asia’s work include:
Pilot Funding: IH2O designs and co-funds pilot projects in the region that restore water supply, mitigate pollution and boost climate resilience. Catalytic capital is deployed alongside hands-on implementation support. In 2023, IH2O Asia doubled its pilot funding program with support from The Coca-Cola Foundation.
Market Access: IH2O mobilizes its network of end-users and advisors to create informed paths to market. This includes market-specific advisory and year-round industry visibility. In 2023, 15 IH2O Asia startups acquired their first customer in the region through the program.
Startup Development: IH2O and IH2O Asia delivers zero-equity accelerator programs that deliver specialized mentorship on entrepreneurial decision making in water. Only 10% of applicants every year are invited to participate in these programs.
Imagine H2O Asia is part of Imagine H2O, the San Francisco-based non-profit in operation since 2009. Current IH2O Asia partners include The Coca-Cola Foundation, Enterprise Singapore, PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency and World Bank.
ABOUT THE POSITION
IH2O Asia is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated self-starter with exceptional writing and communication skills to support the organization’s in-person startup bootcamp and innovation showcase at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) in June 2024.The Summer Associate will be based in Singapore and is expected to commit to 10-12 weeks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Startup Engagement & Events
- Support planning, design and implementation of in-person startup bootcamp
- Lead program and logistics coordination for IH2O Asia’s Innovation Pavilion featuring 18 watertech startups from the region as well as projects showcase session
- Design, develop and edit program and event materials
- Receive a delegate pass to SIWW 2024
- Support post-SIWW event communications
Business Development
- Support IH2O Asia’s water investor learning session in collaboration with PUB and other investor groups
- Lead research and outreach to new and existing industry partners, investor networks and the wider Singapore entrepreneurial ecosystem for event attendance as well as startup and program introductions
- Support updating of organization’s internal partner and startup CRM
- Conduct market and industry research on water and climate-related issues affecting Singapore and Southeast Asia Startup Research
- Conduct market research on water startups globally, with a focus on Asia-based startups, for Imagine H2O Asia Cohort 5
REQUIREMENTS
- • Demonstrate through recent internship experiences:
- Strong project management and relationship management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to be self-directed as well as manage ambiguity or changing priorities
- Interest in water and climate innovation, entrepreneurship and/or venture capital
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with a lean team
- Current undergraduate student
- Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
