ABOUT THE ROLE
Imagine H2O is looking for an organized, detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter with exceptional writing and communication skills to join our team as an Program Associate. The associate will work directly with Imagine H2O’s Director of Programs and Partnerships to manage an Imagine H2O Accelerator program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Planning and Operations (Accelerator Program Delivery)
- Program Planning: Support the Director of Programs and Partnerships in the planning and implementation of IH2O’s accelerator program, helping deliver a high-quality experience for participating startups and ensuring a best-in-class founder experience throughout the accelerator
- Startup Recruitment & Evaluation: Coordinate the startup recruitment and evaluation process, including administering application intake, organizing multi-stage review processes, coordinating judge participation, and tracking timelines and inputs across evaluation rounds
- Accelerator Delivery: Coordinate day-to-day implementation of the accelerator, working closely with participating startups as well as internal staff, mentors, and external collaborators to ensure smooth program delivery, effective engagement, and meaningful outcomes for participating founders
- Data Management & Analysis: Maintain accelerator program datasets, track pipeline and cohort performance, and generate insights for program improvement and stakeholder reporting.
- Accelerator Event Coordination: Support planning and execution of accelerator programming and events – including workshops, mentorship sessions, startup showcases, and Demo Day programming – across a mix of in-person and virtual formats, including coordination of investor and ecosystem participation
Ecosystem and Community Engagement
- IH2O Ecosystem Engagement: Coordinate engagement with IH2O’s network of mentors, judges, investors, and industry partners, executing stakeholder engagement strategies established by IH2O leadership to maximize value, visibility, and opportunity for participating startups
- Mentor & Expert Engagement: Cultivate and coordinate IH2O’s community of mentors and judges by maintaining regular communication, organizing participation in accelerator activities, and supporting effective alignment between mentors and startups throughout the accelerator program
- Portfolio & Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with the IH2O Portfolio program and internal teams to support smooth transition of accelerator startups into the portfolio and develop communication materials (presentations, briefings, newsletters, updates) that keep stakeholders informed.
Cross-Program Initiatives and Other Functions
- Operational Improvements: Proactively identify opportunities to improve accelerator workflows, systems, and program delivery processes, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen operational effectiveness and scalability across IH2O programs
- Research & Cross-Program Support: Conduct research on water innovation markets and the startup ecosystem and provide analytical and operational support across IH2O programs and initiatives, including collaboration with IH2O Asia, the Portfolio program, and the Water Innovation Pilot Fund.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Candidates should have an interest in water and/or climate innovation along with the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with a lean team
- Candidates must demonstrate, through training and experience, business development, process, and relationship management skills and a willingness to accept and take on new challenges
- Qualified applicants must be self-directed, well organized, and focused yet flexible when faced with ambiguity or changing priorities
- Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly articulate data insights and narratives. Comfortable working with datasets in Excel, including data analysis and visualization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A technical, financial, and/or, sustainability background, including a degree in a related field, and/or familiarity with water or climate technologies
- The ideal candidates will demonstrate attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, and an ability to juggle multiple priorities successfully
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience (including internships) or coursework is preferred
BENEFITS & LOCATION
- This is a full-time position. The expected salary range for this role is $65,000- $95,000, commensurate with experience. Full benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
- Location preference is San Francisco Bay Area or New York City; other locations will also be considered. Imagine H2O has remote team members in California, Nevada, Montana, New York and other places.
