Our Company

MISO develops technology that elevates human potential in the commercial kitchen.

We’re engineering production-ready robotic systems that tightly integrate perception, real-time

decision-making, and electromechanical controls to automate the most dangerous, least desirable

tasks in food preparation. That means building software that understands the physical world as it

actually behaves, and hardware that can execute precisely in the face of chaos. Success is

measured in uptime, throughput, and trust from our customers, not demos.

Our flagship platform, Flippy, is already operating in high-volume restaurant kitchens across seven

states. Zippy, our Kitchen Intelligence software centralizes all operational data in our broader

ecosystem, expanding the role of AI-enabled autonomy in real-world operations. We recently acquired Zignyl, the restaurant operations system, to accelerate the work we've done on the Intelligence layer, and to build an entire restaurant operating ecosytem.

Backed by industry leaders, including Ecolab (NYSE: ECL), Miso combines the stability of a

commercial product with the technical depth and ambition of a company passionately innovating

to solve foundational problems in robotics and restaurant operations.

If you’re excited by hard constraints, real customers, and the challenge of making machines

perform reliably where failure isn’t an option, you’ll find meaningful problems to work on here.

The Role

The Manufacturing Engineer is a high-impact, hands-on role focused on the transition of Flippy

from internal rapid development to volume contract manufacturing. As we scale to meet

increasing demand, you will be the primary technical bridge between Miso’s R&D team and our

external manufacturing partners. You will own the "how" of production—turning complex AI-

powered robotic designs into repeatable, high-quality hardware at scale.

This role requires a unique blend of technical rigor and project leadership. You will be responsible

for bringing up our contract manufacturing (CM) partner, validating their processes, and ensuring

that every Flippy unit meets our strict standards for uptime and reliability. From optimizing

assembly lines to managing the manufacturing value chain, you will ensure that Miso’s hardware

delivery keeps pace with our software’s intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Manufacturing Leadership: Lead the technical bring-up of contract

manufacturing partners, including site audits, process validation, and the establishment of

Quality Control (QC) standards.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Own the transition of new designs from R&D to the

production floor, ensuring seamless handoffs and rapid resolution of manufacturing

hurdles.

  • Process Development: Develop and optimize logical process flows, breaking down the

complex Flippy system into efficient sub-assemblies and sub-processes.

  • Manufacturing Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive Manufacturing

Instructions (MIs), assembly procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • DFx Feedback Loop: Provide critical Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for

Assembly (DfA) feedback to the mechanical and electrical engineering teams to reduce

cost and assembly time.

  • Tooling & Fixturing: Design, qualify, and deploy manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and

automated test equipment (ATE) to ensure repeatable assembly and high yield.

  • Change Management: Manage and issue Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and deviations,

ensuring the CM partner is always building to the latest validated revision.

  • Quality & Reliability: Utilize DFMEA/PFMEA to identify risks in the assembly process; drive

root-cause analysis for any production failures or field returns.

  • Hands-on Prototyping: Work directly with technicians and R&D engineers to build

prototype hardware, using those builds to refine the eventual mass-production process.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of industry experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, or

hardware production. Experience with complex electromechanical systems or robotics is

highly preferred.

  • CM Management: Proven track record of working with external contract manufacturers to

scale production from low to high volume.

  • Technical Fundamentals: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal,

CNC, injection molding, PCBA assembly, and wire harnessing).

  • Quality Tools: Strong proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stacks, and the application of PFMEA

to mitigate production risks.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience using Onshape and/or Solidworks. Familiarity with PLM

systems for BOM management and ECO tracking.

  • Problem Solving: A "fixer" mentality—you enjoy being on the shop floor, diagnosing line

bottlenecks, and solving mechanical puzzles in real-time.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear

instructions for third-party vendors and partners.

Compensation

$135,000-$150,000 Annually + Benefits

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range for candidates

residing in the Los Angeles Metro area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and

benefits. If your salary requirements fall outside of the range, we still encourage you to apply.

At Miso Robotics, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace

where every team member is valued and respected. We believe that diversity in our team drives

innovation and creativity, which is why we strive to create a welcoming environment for everyone,

regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability,

age, or veteran status.
