We streamline compliance, operations, and reporting so utilities can manage water resources responsibly and make a lasting environmental impact.Role OverviewAs a Sales Engineer, you’ll work closely with our sales team to understand customer requirements, demonstrate our products, and provide technical expertise during the sales process. You’ll help potential customers see the value of our software, guide them through technical evaluations, and ensure a smooth hand-off to our onboarding and support teams.Key Responsibilities- Partner with sales representatives to identify and qualify opportunities- Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept projects- Gather and analyze customer requirements to tailor solutions and proposals- Serve as the technical point of contact during pre-sales and early post-sales activities- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and inform product improvements- Create technical documentation, solution diagrams, and proposals for client review- Stay up-to-date on product updates, competitor offerings, and industry trendsRequired Qualifications- Two year technical certification or college degree in related field- 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or related role (software/SaaS preferred)- Strong understanding of software architectures, APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms- Excellent communication and presentation skills—comfortable speaking with both technical and non-technical stakeholders- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, value-driven messaging- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and sales cycles- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentDesired Skills & Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering (Preferred)- Technical Certifications (Preferred)- At least 1 year of experience with SaaS software (Preferred)- Ability to write SQL queries specifically on MS SQL- Ability to write basic HTML, Javascript programming codes- Familiarity with project management systems (e.g., Zoho CRM, etc.)- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite- Strong research skills and attention to detail- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment- Ability to communicate and has presentation abilities- Skill in providing technical assistance and training to sales staff- Ability to provide computer software support to sales staff- Ability to demonstrate experience with configuration and troubleshooting of software- Proficient in general computer programs and tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint- Ability to prepare and deliver effective and informative presentations, workshops, and sales demos- Ability to work irregular and flexible hours as required- Ability to create documentation for non-technical staff on using specialized software- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing- Ability to read, understand, and apply complex technical documents- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and clients- Ability to travel as neededWhy Join Us?- Established team with clear processes and strong collaboration- Opportunity to work on an industry-leading compliance platform- Exposure to municipal and utility compliance technology- Collaborative, fast-paced SaaS environmentBenefits- Health, dental, and vision insurance- Life insurance- Retirement plan- Paid time offEqual Employment OpportunityNJBSoft provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
