Role OverviewWe are seeking an Implementation Engineer to execute the technical components of SAMS software implementations for public utilities and private water compliance entities. Reporting to the Implementations Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for backend configuration, data migration, integrations, and technical setup required to successfully deploy the platform. The Implementation Engineer works closely with Implementation Project Managers and other cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy, data integrity, and system readiness throughout the implementation lifecycle. Key Responsibilities- Perform backend system configuration to support client-specific workflows, regulatory requirements, and operational use cases.- Execute data migration activities including data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading into the SAMS platform.- Support and configure system integrations such as APIs, file-based data exchanges, and third-party platform connections.- Prepare and manage technical environments, including sandbox and production setups, and support environment migrations.- Participate in technical readiness activities for user acceptance testing (UAT) and go-live events.- Troubleshoot and resolve data, configuration, and integration issues during implementation and post-go-live stabilization.- Collaborate closely with Implementation Project Managers to align technical execution with project timelines and milestones.- Document technical configurations, migration steps, and implementation artifacts to support repeatability and knowledge sharing.- Escalate complex technical issues to the Implementations Engineering Manager with clear analysis and recommended solutions.- Coordinate with Product, Development, and Support teams to resolve defects and technical dependencies. Requirements- 3–5 years of experience in technical implementation, implementation engineering, or systems engineering roles within a SaaS environment.- Strong experience with backend configuration, data migration, and system integrations.- Ability to analyze datasets, validate data quality, and troubleshoot technical issues.- Comfort working across multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and customer-facing teams.
