Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Implementation Consultant to execute the customer-facing components of SAMS software implementations for public utilities and private infrastructure operators. Reporting to the Implementation Project Manager, this role serves as the primary functional and subject matter expert during the implementation lifecycle, ensuring the platform is configured, adopted, and utilized in alignment with customer regulatory, reporting, and operational needs. Key Responsibilities- Lead customer-facing implementation activities including software familiarity sessions, functional workshops, and solution walkthroughs.- Elicit and document customer requirements related to regulatory reporting, dashboards, workflows, and operational use cases.- Configure front-end system components including dashboards, reports, workflows, alerts, and user permissions.- Partner with Implementation Engineers to validate migrated data and ensure accuracy and regulatory alignment.- Execute end-to-end system testing and support UAT with customer stakeholders.- Deliver customer training sessions to ensure successful adoption.- Serve as a trusted advisor by applying water compliance subject matter expertise.- Provide go-live and post-go-live support.- Collaborate closely with Implementation Project Managers to align execution with project timelines and milestones.- Document functional configurations, customer requirements, and implementation outcomes; provide feedback to Product and Engineering. Requirements- 5+ years of experience in implementation consulting, functional consulting, or customer-facing software implementation roles.- Strong experience working directly with customers in a professional services or SaaS implementation environment.- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in water, wastewater, or environmental compliance.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead workshops, training sessions, and customer meetings.- Ability to translate regulatory and operational requirements into system configuration and functional solutions.- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently. Desired Skills & Experience- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG)- Experience using tools such as Claude AI, Jira, Confluence, etc.- Experience working with public utilities, municipalities, or regulated infrastructure operators.- Familiarity with EPA compliance reporting platforms and state-level regulatory systems.- Experience configuring dashboards, reports, and workflow-driven SaaS platforms.- Knowledge of SDWA, NPDES, CCR, and other water-related compliance programs.- Experience supporting system go-lives and post-implementation stabilization.
