What You Will Contribute:

The Facility Maintenance Assistant supports the Facilities team by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the organization’s buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role ensures a safe, clean, and functional environment for employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.).
  • Perform general upkeep tasks such as painting, minor carpentry, and furniture assembly.
  • Monitor security camera systems to ensure ongoing surveillance coverage, review activity in real time, and retrieve or provide recorded footage to internal teams or authorities as required.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Support preventive maintenance schedules and document completed tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in common areas, mechanical rooms, and storage spaces.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and report shortages.
  • Assist with setup and teardown for company events or office moves.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and report hazards immediately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and climbing. Anything over 30lb will be a team lift.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with MS Word Suite

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.

Work Environment

  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for urgent repairs or special projects.
