What You Will Contribute:
Field Support Technician – Southern California (Northern LA County to Ventura County)
Location: Field-based role covering Northern Los Angeles County through Ventura County
Travel: Up to 90%
We are seeking a dependable and self‑motivated Field Support Technician to support our customers across Southern California. This role is hands-on and field-focused, working directly on customer utility properties to install, troubleshoot, and verify performance of metering technologies and cellular connectivity.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, maintains a professional presence, follows instructions accurately, and knows when to escalate questions or issues.
What You’ll Do

Perform warranty work, including:
- Site surveys
- Quality assurance/field inspections for third‑party installations
- Firmware updates
- Meter reading and data collection
- Troubleshooting product or installation issues
Evaluate and diagnose field cellular coverage concerns.
Install utility sensors, hardware, and AMR/AMI endpoints.
Program registers, load/unload work vehicles, and complete repair or maintenance tasks.
Use a work order application to capture all required installation and service data accurately.
Communicate effectively with utility customers and represent the company with professionalism at all times.
Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and operate vehicles/equipment safely and legally.
Travel frequently to customer sites and remain on-site for extended periods as needed.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Network Technology preferred
- 0–1+ years of experience in a related technical or field service role desired
Qualifications
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with WOM (Word‑of‑Mouth Marketing) preferred
- Ability to work safely in varying outdoor conditions
- Strong judgment to prevent safety issues or property damage
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions
- Work performed in both office and field environments
- Exposure to outdoor weather (heat, cold, humidity, dry/arid conditions)
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
The target hourly rate for this role is $30-$32/hr
