What You Will Contribute:
The Solution Architect Manager, Business Applications plays a pivotal role in shaping Badger Meter’s technology landscape. This leader brings deep expertise in database systems and broad ERP knowledge to guide the organization through ongoing modernization and transformation. Acting as a catalyst for change, this role drives innovation, strengthens cross-functional collaboration, and ensures that technology solutions align with long-term business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as the organization’s ERP subject matter expert, assessing business needs and recommending platform-agnostic ERP solutions aligned with Badger Meter’s evolving requirements.
- Lead strategic engagement with ERP vendors, including user group participation, internal outreach, roadmap planning, release management, feature request documentation, cloud operations coordination, and vendor support oversight.
- Guide ERP migration initiatives with advanced expertise, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term sustainability.
Database & Systems Architecture
- Apply deep knowledge of DB2 or similar database systems to design, optimize, and maintain data structures that support business processes, analytics, and integration.
- Architect and maintain a cohesive IT systems landscape, ensuring data consistency and seamless integration across platforms such as Salesforce, document control systems, CRM, and CPQ tools.
Change Leadership & Organizational Influence
- Act as a change agent by identifying opportunities to enhance IT solutions, streamline processes, and improve organizational efficiency.
- Lead cutover planning for application and system deployments, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.
- Develop a long-term organizational structure that embeds process analysis capabilities across IT and key business functions including supply chain, finance, and operations.
Strategic Planning & Solution Design
- Build and maintain the IT architectural roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and future growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into holistic, scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending adoption where they support strategic goals.
- Leadership, Mentorship & Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that encourages innovation and cross-functional partnership.
- Mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development and strengthening architectural capabilities across the organization.
- Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicting inputs, and distill complex details into clear, actionable insights.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in IT/IT management, supply chain operations, finance, or related disciplines.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Technical Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of ERP migrations.
- Advanced SQL proficiency.
- Advanced change management capabilities.
- Intermediate strategic planning experience.
