What You Will Contribute:

The Senior Inside Sales Specialist will support customers and internal stakeholders by providing any or a combination of the following services: researching and responding to customer inquiries either in person, by telephone, e-mail, fax, or other correspondence. This position will serve as the main point of contact for strategic accounts along with account manager within account team structure.

Job Duties:

  • Works as the main point of contact for strategic projects within various groups (sales & marketing, pricing strategy etc.) in partnership with branch manager.

  • Provide pricing on products over the phone, negotiate pricing with customers within account manager’s threshold.

  • Discuss and educate customers on SmartCover products and services with prospective and new customers. Move them to quoting stage prior to involving account manager.

  • Understand functionality and selling points of ALL products offered.

  • Monitor expiring quotes and work with account managers to ensure adequate price increases within account threshold.

  • Achieve and maintain a deep technical understanding of the product line, its capabilities, and its applicability into different customer applications.

  • Partners with key stakeholders in the escalation process of inquires within accounts as they arise and report to branch manager.

  • Make decisions quickly to resolve issues that arise with both our customer and Badger Meter’s best interest in mind.

  • Communicates with team when customer’s specifications change or projects end so we do not have excess inventory in warehouses for these changes.

  • Navigate on hand inventory report to sell inventory that can often get “lost” in the system if not managed and monitored properly.

  • Understand warehouse process and help pack and ship orders for end of month/quarter if needed.

  • Provide feedback to branch manager on issues and opportunities to reduce redundancy and improve accuracy internally and externally.

  • Review and assist in updating bids to ensure correct account maintenance is listed in Salesforce.

  • Work with account managers, regional managers & PMO team on special projects and strategic accounts.

  • Process orders, quotes, etc. as needed.

  • Take incoming calls from customers on issues within the accounts and provide quick solutions.

  • Maintain knowledge of account specification within territory and customer base.

  • Provide customer service with account specification within the territory to help expedite quotes/orders for customers accurately.

Education and Experience:

  • High school degree/GED required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, or psychology preferred

  • 5+ years of related experience in the water/waste industry preferred

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting internal and external customers such as sales or customer service required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software required

  • Experience in Salesforce (CRM) require

  • Knowledge of manufacturing or distribution required

  • Intermediate knowledge of LX (or a similar software) and understanding of how system is utilized within distribution sites required

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
