We deliver actionable insights across wastewater networks through our cloud-based SaaS platform. As we continue to grow, we’re expanding our team to tackle new challenges with data and machine learning. More and more, StormHarvester are tackling problems and projects that require hydraulic modelling experience. The Data & Modelling team has hydraulic modelling expertise, and are looking to expand this.

About the role:

Our products deliver on real-world issues, solving water company and industry problems with existing
and new infrastructure which is critical to the environment, economy and everyday living.
We are primarily data driven with domain expertise delivering insights to water networks and assets
using analytics, presentation, machine learning and AI that is SaaS and cloud based.
We are building on our existing team to onward develop our existing products, and continue growing
our customer offerings, base and revenues.

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to take the lead in improving the user experience of our existing customer portal and in designing new pages and features. This role involves analysing current pages, identifying areas for improvement, and delivering modern, user-friendly and accessible designs. You will work closely with product owners, developers and QA to ensure our applications are intuitive, consistent and engaging.

Job Requirements

Essential
· Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a strong portfolio of web applications or portals.
· Ability to analyse existing products and propose user-focused improvements.
· Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar).
· Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design and usability.
· Experience designing for responsive, cross-browser SPAs and web applications.
· Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
· Experience working in Agile teams, using JIRA and Confluence for task management and documentation.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.

Desirable
· Experience designing for Angular-based SPAs.
· Background in dashboards, portals or enterprise applications.
· Familiarity with AWS-based services and cloud product considerations.
· Experience using UX analytics tools (e.g. Hotjar, Google Analytics, Mixpanel).
· Knowledge of motion design and micro-interactions to enhance usability.

Job responsibilities

· Review existing portal pages and journeys, identify pain points, and propose practical improvements.
· Lead the design of new portal pages and features, producing wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
· Conduct user research, usability testing and feedback sessions to inform design decisions.
· Translate product requirements into clear user journeys and design solutions.
· Develop and maintain design systems, style guides and component libraries for consistency.
· Ensure designs follow modern UI/UX best practice, including responsive design and accessibility (WCAG).
· Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
· Document design rationale, journeys and guidelines in Confluence for team reference.
