Opportunity: Community Water of America

Community Water of America is a growing regulated water and wastewater utility platform dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable water services to communities across the Southwest. With operations spanning Greater Tucson, the Phoenix area, and northwestern Arizona near the Nevada border, CWA is preparing to scale operations into new markets across other southwestern states.

*Highlights of Responsibilities *

You will join a small team responsible for an existing portfolio of assets as well as a pipeline of acquisition opportunities. You will enjoy meaningful responsibility in a learning environment with a team of highly successful executives. Examples:
• Sourcing opportunities to purchase new utility assets.
• Contributing to the investment and underwriting of utility acquisitions, including due diligence, financial modeling, legal review, documentation, negotiation, presenting, and deal execution.
• External business development, internal reporting and operations, coordinating meetings, managing our transaction pipeline, and generally doing what’s needed to grow the enterprise.
• Monitoring and evaluating industry trends, regulatory environment, and M&A activity across multiple states.
• Assisting in developing and implementing overall business development and operational strategy, acquisition checklists, and best practices across the company.

*Requirements and Ingredients for Success *

• Experience at a utility platform, project or infrastructure finance, private equity fund or investment bank. Representative backgrounds could include project finance, renewable energy finance, hedge fund investing in related assets or sectors, private equity or direct lending, or lease and equipment finance. You should have excellent skills in financial modeling in Excel and a foundation in general accounting. We also welcome candidates with accounting backgrounds with experience in utilities.
• College degree is required.
• Prior experience in water, electric or gas utilities, is a plus.
• Ability to network and build relationships.
• 1 -5 years of experience.

Remote. Arizona, Texas, San Francisco, or New York preferred.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
